Unlike SantaFe, Sorento will be produced with the current generation in 2024; But it will have a fundamental face change.

With the unveiling of the new generation Santa Fe, expectations for Sorento 2024 have risen. Over two decades, Sorento and Santa Fe were produced with similar specifications; So, in the current situation, doing a facelift for the Kia SUV was an unexpected event.

The first Sorento was introduced in 2002 and reached the Iranian market. This car was available as Kia’s flagship crossover worldwide and provided relatively good sales for the Korean brand. For the people of our country, the first, second and third generations were sold, but the introduction of the fourth generation in 2020 coincided with the import ban. Now, Kia has decided to have a basic facelift for this medium-sized SUV and make the unveiling of the fifth generation look ambiguous. Maybe Sorento will be removed from Kia’s portfolio forever with the increase in the production of electric cars.

In the main view, Sorento 2024 is not comparable to the previous model. The lights have been completely changed and now there are only narrow LED lines for lighting. Four small cube LEDs will also play the role of high or fog lights. Also, the famous Kia grille known as the Tiger Nose design has been replaced with a modern example. The bumper will also come with silver trim on the bottom, which is absent for the 2023 model.

For the taillights, a slight join has been added at the top and the internal LEDs are T-shaped. The rear wing, shark antenna and rear bumper of the Sorento also look very different from the current model. Apparently, only the trunk lid remains unchanged. Even the wheels of the 2024 model will have a new design.

Inside the cabin, Kia’s penchant for fashion is evident. The continuous display is mounted on the dashboard with a slight bend. The design of the air outlet is also continuous and creative, but the layout of the keys looks similar to the Kia EV6. It will be possible to order new colors for the leather of the seats, nesting and inside the steering wheel.

The technical information of Sorento 2024 has not been released but it can be assured that the engines will not change significantly. The cheapest model is produced with a 2.5-liter engine, a front-wheel drive single differential system, and a power of 191 horsepower. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions with 230 and 265 horsepower will also be available.

Experts hope that the price threshold of Kia Sorento 2024 will be maintained in the range of 33 to 35 thousand dollars. As the best-selling model for the European and American markets, the basic hybrid model will cost $40,000. Sorento plug-in hybrid with two differentials with full options will probably be sold for $52,000.
